A More Natural Infill Solution

Mined from the Hickory Formation in central Texas, Envirofill is a byproduct of the oil industry that would normally be discarded.

When an oil well is drilled, pressure is used to fracture the rock to facilitate the flow of natural gas or oil to the wellbore. To prevent the fracture from closing back up, a highly rounded, non-compacting, quartz material known as “frac” sand is pumped into the well to keep it propped open.

When frac sand is mined, the oil industry screens off and uses only the finer aggregates, leaving behind larger particles, which would normally be returned to the pit. The ideal size for a synthetic turf infill, these grains are recycled by USGreentech to create Envirofill.
